Jointing plaster is the first step after boarding — it fills the joints between boards, covers screw heads and embeds fibreglass mesh tape to create a seamless, crack-free surface. Without proper jointing, even the best skim coat will crack. We stock Siniat Jointing Plaster and Metajoint in 20kg bags, with Metajoint also available in 10kg for smaller jobs.
Jointing plaster is a fast-setting gypsum compound specifically formulated for filling the joints, cracks and rough surfaces in plasterboard systems. Applied over fibreglass mesh tape embedded across board joints, it creates a monolithic surface that prevents cracking at the joints once skimmed and painted. Short setting times accelerate on-site work — once dry, it sands down to an ultra-smooth, tough finish. Short set times mean you can apply multiple coats faster — quicker taping and finishing on both residential and commercial projects.
Used with fibreglass mesh tape, it creates a reinforced joint that resists cracking from building movement and temperature cycles.
Once dry, sands easily to an ultra-smooth, flush finish — screw heads and joints disappear completely under skim and paint.
