Drywall insulation fills the cavity between steel studs in a partition wall — dramatically improving the acoustic and thermal performance of the finished partition. A wall without insulation is just a wall. A wall with insulation is a proper barrier. Match the batt thickness to your stud profile and friction-fit between the studs before boarding.
Drywall insulation (acoustic and thermal cavity batts) fills partition cavities for significantly enhanced acoustic and thermal performance. The most common size is 1200×600mm in 63mm batts for use in 63mm stud partitions — but we also stock 51mm batts for 51mm studs and 102mm batts for 102mm stud cavities. The batts friction-fit snugly between studs without any adhesive or staples, are pushed flush against the back board and then boarded over. Simple, fast and effective.
