Ceiling Tiles

Acoustic mineral fibre tiles and vinyl clad gypsum tiles for T38 exposed grid systems. In 600×600mm and 1200×600mm, square or revealed edge. Always in stock at our Edenvale warehouse.

Our Ceiling Tile Range

Both tile types are designed for T38 exposed grid systems — they drop in from above, no adhesive required. The choice between acoustic and vinyl comes down to the environment and what the space demands.

Acoustic Ceiling Tiles installed

Acoustic ceiling tiles are mineral fibre panels engineered for superior sound absorption in suspended T38 grid systems. They reduce echo, cut noise transmission and improve the general acoustics of a room — making them the standard specification for offices, schools, hospitals, call centres and any space where noise control matters. Fire-rated and lightweight, they drop straight into the T38 grid with no adhesive or fixing required. Available in 600×600mm and 1200×600mm with square or revealed edge profiles.

Sound Absorption

Reduces echo and noise transmission — improves speech intelligibility and concentration in open-plan spaces.

Fire-Rated

Manufactured from non-combustible mineral fibre — meets fire safety requirements for commercial buildings.

Humidity Resistant

Prevents sagging in moist commercial environments — maintains performance over time.

Easy to Replace

Individual tiles lift out without tools — replace a damaged tile in seconds.

What do acoustic tiles actually do?
They absorb sound, reduce echo and cut noise transmission. Perfect for offices, call centres, restaurants and home cinemas where noise control is important.
Are they fire-rated?
Yes — made from non-combustible mineral fibre, meeting fire safety requirements for commercial and institutional buildings.
Square edge or revealed edge — what’s the difference?
Square edge (lay-in) tiles sit flat on the grid flange — the standard commercial look. Revealed edge tiles have a stepped rebate that creates a shadow line between tile and grid for a more architectural finish.
How many tiles do I need for a 6m x 6m room?
100 tiles (600×600mm) = 36m². Or 50 tiles (1200×600mm) = 36m². Bring your room dimensions and we’ll calculate the exact quantities including grid.
Can I use acoustic tiles in a home office or bedroom?
Absolutely — they cut outside noise and echoes and improve call clarity. A great choice for home offices, bedrooms and hobby rooms where a quieter environment makes a real difference.
Do you stock the T38 grid too?
Yes — white and black T38 grids, wall angles, suspension wire and clips. Everything you need in one visit.

Vinyl Clad Ceiling Tiles

Vinyl Clad Ceiling Tiles

Vinyl clad ceiling tiles are manufactured by laminating a decorative patterned vinyl onto an 8mm, 9mm or 12mm thick gypsum core. The durable PVC laminate provides a smooth, non-porous finish that is resistant to moisture, bacteria and scratches — ideal for high-traffic areas, wet environments and anywhere hygiene is a priority. Available in White, Black and Fissured patterns. They drop into a T38 exposed grid system — no adhesive, no screws. Sold in packs of 8 tiles.

Wipe-Clean

Smooth vinyl facing cleans easily with standard disinfectants — ideal for kitchens, healthcare and food processing areas.

Moisture Resistant

PVC construction repels water — no mould, no sagging in humid environments like bathrooms and kitchens.

3 Finishes

White, Black and Fissured patterns — versatile options for different aesthetic requirements.

UV Stable

Fade resistant — suitable for covered outdoor areas like verandas and braai patios.

Why choose Vinyl over Acoustic tiles?
The vinyl facing wipes clean easily — use in kitchens, bathrooms, laundries and offices. No mould, no sagging and no periodic replacement due to staining.
Are vinyl tiles waterproof?
The PVC surface repels water — perfect for humid areas and spaces with steam. The gypsum core is not fully waterproof so avoid direct water contact.
What grid do vinyl tiles need?
The same T38 exposed grid as acoustic tiles — they drop in from above, no adhesive required. Replace one tile in seconds.
Can I use vinyl tiles on a covered patio?
Yes — verandas, covered braai areas and patios. UV stable and fade resistant. Not suitable for direct rain exposure.
Can I paint vinyl tiles?
Not recommended — the factory vinyl finish lasts for years and paint adhesion on PVC is poor. Use as supplied.
